Wang Gang holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Renmin University of China and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently a professor in the School of Humanities and Communication at Ningbo University. His research interests include social science research methods, communication theory, and political economy. Wang has published extensively in leading Chinese and international journals, including Journalism & Communication. His paper, Research Design in Communication Studies Based on Observational Data, was awarded the Eleventh National Outstanding Paper in Journalism and Communication and was selected as one of the Top 10 Papers of 2022 by Journalism & Communication. He is the principal investigator of multiple research projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Education.
